Popular Evening News writer and former Norwich Sheriff Derek James talk about his life and times, and his love of The Fine City.
He tells how he was adoped and brought to Norfolk as a baby. And how, after a visit to Fleet Street in the 1950s, he never wanted to do a “Proper Job” – just work on newspapers.
His journey took him from Norfolk to work on newspapers across the Country, and then back to Norfolk ……….. Writing a page liken no other in the Evening News.
Derek was overwhelmed when asked to be Sheriff of Norwich five years ago. A huge honour. He talks about an extraordinary year in Office.
